So if you have an FSA, plan to use those funds by the end of the year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-an-hsa\"><strong>What is an HSA?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Health savings accounts (HSAs) are tax-advantaged savings accounts that allow you to contribute money pre-tax to use toward qualified medical expenses. By using untaxed dollars in to pay for medical expenses like deductibles, you can lower your out-of-pocket health care costs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HSAs have triple tax benefits:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tax-free contributions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tax-free capital gains<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tax-free withdrawals on qualified medical costs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How much you can contribute depends on your age and whether your plan covers just you or also your family.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For 2024, the contribution limits are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$4,150 for self-only coverage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$8,300 for family coverage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those age 55 and older can also make an additional $1,000 catch-up contribution.
