Start saving $10 now from each payroll payment, then bump it up when you have more wiggle room in your budget.\u00a0 Setting up automatic transfers with your bank can make saving effortless.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"h-not-saving-more-for-retirement\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Not saving more for retirement<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some people want to work forever because they love their jobs, others do it because they have no choice.\u00a0 Nineteen percent of Americans regret not saving more for <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Retirement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">retirement<\/a>.\u00a0 Even if you\u2019re young and think you have all the time in the world, do yourself a favor and start now.\u00a0 You\u2019ll be able to save more money and reap the benefits of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Compound_interest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">compound interest<\/a>.\u00a0 Aim to save 10-15% of your annual pre-tax income.\u00a0 If your employer offers a company match, make sure you\u2019re contributing enough to receive your full match.\u00a0 It\u2019s free money and you don\u2019t want to miss out.\u00a0 For 2021, the contribution limit is $19,500 for a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/401(k)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">401k<\/a> and $6,000 for an <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Individual_retirement_account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IRA<\/a>.\u00a0 Depending on your age, you may be able to make catch-up contributions to your retirement accounts.
