{"id":25648,"date":"2021-04-27T16:08:46","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T20:08:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.eztaxreturn.com\/?p=25648"},"modified":"2023-06-05T13:30:08","modified_gmt":"2023-06-05T18:30:08","slug":"tips-for-traveling-safely-during-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.eztaxreturn.com\/blog\/tips-for-traveling-safely-during-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Tips for Traveling Safely During COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After being stuck at home for the last year, you\u2019re probably anxious to take a vacation.\u00a0 However, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CDC<\/a> recommends holding off until you\u2019re fully vaccinated.\u00a0 This is defined as 2 weeks after you&#8217;ve taken the final dose.\u00a0 Even if you are vaccinated, you still need to take certain precautions to keep you and your loved ones safe.\u00a0 Here are the latest travel recommendations.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"h-plan-ahead\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Plan ahead<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Different places have different rules so do your homework beforehand.\u00a0 If you\u2019re planning to travel domestically, you can use the CDC\u2019s Travel Planner tool to learn what restrictions your destination has in place.\u00a0 Keep in mind, you may be required to self-quarantine for part of your trip.\u00a0 The CDC website can also tell you which countries have the highest <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/COVID-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Covid<\/a> risk if you plan to travel internationally.\u00a0 Obviously, those are the places you want to avoid.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"h-choose-the-travel-option-with-the-least-amount-of-risk\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Choose the travel option with the least amount of risk<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When deciding where to go, it\u2019s important to factor in how you\u2019ll get there and where you\u2019ll stay.\u00a0 Connecting flights may be cheaper, but multiple transfers and layovers can increase your risk of catching Covid-19.\u00a0 If you\u2019re going to fly, choose a direct flight.\u00a0 Taking a short road trip with members of your household or those who are fully vaccinated is also a safer option.\u00a0 Longer trips will require more pit stops and being in contact with strangers.\u00a0 As far as accommodations go, your best bet is to stay in a vacation rental with your travel buddies.\u00a0 Hotels with crowded common areas are less safe.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"h-get-vaccinated-before-you-go\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Get vaccinated before you go<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everyone aged 16 or older is now eligible to get the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/COVID-19_vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Covid vaccine<\/a> so schedule an appointment at a location near you.\u00a0 Getting vaccinated can protect you from Covid-19 and prevent you from spreading it to others.\u00a0 However, you must wait two weeks after the final dose to be considered fully vaccinated.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-horizontal is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-7d812b4c wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-luminous-vivid-orange-background-color has-background wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eztaxreturn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">File your taxes now!<\/a><\/div>\r\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"h-be-prepared-to-take-multiple-covid-tests\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Be prepared to take multiple COVID tests<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you plan to travel internationally, you may be required to show proof of a negative <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/COVID-19_testing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Covid test<\/a> before leaving for your destination.\u00a0 Get tested 1-3 days before departure and bring a copy of your results with you.
