been anxious to get their hands on the money.\u00a0 Payments can be as much as $1,200 for individuals and $2,400 for married couples filing jointly.\u00a0 Additionally, you can receive $500 per qualifying child.\u00a0 So far, approximately 140 million payments have been issued, but millions of people are still waiting for their cash.\u00a0 Here are some reasons why you may not have received yours.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 30px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"h-you-earned-too-much-money-to-qualify\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>You earned too much money to qualify<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Getting a stimulus check isn\u2019t guaranteed for everyone.\u00a0 To qualify for the full payment, your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eztaxreturn.com\/contact-and-support\/tax-terms.html#adjustedbasis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">adjusted gross income<\/a> cannot be more than $75,000 for singles and $150,000 for married couples filing a joint return.\u00a0 If your income exceeds this amount, your payment will be reduced by $5 for every $100 you\u2019re over the threshold.\u00a0 Once your income reaches $99,000 (single filers) or $198,000 (married filing jointly), you\u2019re automatically disqualified from receiving a payment.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 30px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"h-the-irs-doesn-t-have-your-direct-deposit-information\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The IRS doesn\u2019t have your direct deposit information<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Direct_deposit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Direct deposit<\/a> is the fastest way to get your stimulus payment.\u00a0 Unfortunately, if it\u2019s been years since you\u2019ve done your taxes or you usually receive your refund via paper check, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eztaxreturn.com\/contact-and-support\/tax-terms.html#interestincome\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IRS<\/a> probably doesn\u2019t have your bank information on file.\u00a0 Those who have no intention of filing a 2019 tax return, can submit their information on the IRS website to receive their Economic Impact Payment.\u00a0 Everyone else will need to sit tight and wait for their check to come in the mail.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 30px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-fe48e5de wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-font-size has-medium-font-size\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-white-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-element-button\" id=\"h-the-money-went-to-a-closed-bank-account\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The money went to a closed bank account<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taxpayers who filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019 and requested their refund via direct deposit will automatically receive their stimulus payment the same way.\u00a0 If you\u2019ve recently changed banks, there\u2019s a possibility that your stimulus payment went to your old account.\u00a0 The good news is that if the account is closed, your bank will reject the deposit.\u00a0 In turn, the IRS will issue a paper check to the address listed on your last tax return.\u00a0 It will take some time, but you will get your money.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 30px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"h-someone-claimed-you-as-a-dependent\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Someone claimed you as a dependent<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taxpayers with a dependent under the age of 17 can receive an additional $500 per qualifying child.\u00a0 Unfortunately, when the <a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/policy-issues\/cares\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CARES Act<\/a> was created, older dependents were left out of the mix.\u00a0 So, if you\u2019re a college student, senior citizen or disabled person who is being claimed as a dependent on someone else\u2019s tax return, you will not qualify for a stimulus check.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 30px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"h-you-re-behind-on-child-support-payments\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>You\u2019re behind on child support payments<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019ve fallen behind on your child support payments, the Treasury Department can seize your stimulus check to pay what you owe.\u00a0 Typically, you\u2019ll receive a notice in the mail providing further details.\u00a0 Some married couples prefer to file a joint tax return versus filing separate.\u00a0 If you file together and your spouse owes past due child support, your stimulus payment may be reduced as well.\u00a0 The only way to get the amount for which you qualify is to file an injured spouse form with the IRS, but it may take a while to resolve the issue.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height:
