If not, what got in the way?<\/li>\n<li>What were your proudest moments?<\/li>\n<li>What were your biggest disappointments?<\/li>\n<li>How do you want this year to be different from the last?<\/li>\n<li>Which behaviors do you want to stop, start or continue in 2018?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even if your year wasn&#8217;t perfect, give yourself credit for coming this far and making strides to do better.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Let go of negativity<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Don\u2019t let the things that tripped you up in 2018, hold you back in 2019.\u00a0 The New Year is your chance to start fresh.\u00a0 Letting go of negativity allows better things to flow into your life.\u00a0 Hate your job?\u00a0 Look for a new one.\u00a0 Holding on to a dead relationship?\u00a0 Kiss them goodbye.\u00a0 Friends dragging you down?\u00a0 Cut them off.\u00a0 Get rid of anything that doesn\u2019t align with your values and where you\u2019re trying to go.\u00a0 It won\u2019t be easy but it will be worth it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Create a vision board<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>What do you want your life to look like?\u00a0 Many people believe that if you visualize your dreams, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Law_of_attraction_(New_Thought)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Law of Attraction<\/a> will draw them to you.\u00a0 The best way to do this is to create a vision board.\u00a0 All you\u2019ll need is a magazine, scissors, glue and poster board.\u00a0 Go through your magazine and clip any words or pictures that inspire you and represent your goals.\u00a0 No wish is too big or too small, so shoot for the stars.\u00a0 But only choose things that genuinely make you feel good.\u00a0 Once you\u2019ve made your selection, paste the images to your poster board.\u00a0 When you\u2019re done, sign and date your vision board and hang it somewhere it will constantly be seen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Set SMART goals<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Many people fail to accomplish their goals because they\u2019re either too vague or unrealistic.\u00a0 You\u2019re more likely to bring your dreams to fruition if you set <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/SMART_criteria\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SMART goals<\/a>.\u00a0 That means they must be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-sensitive.\u00a0 You need to be clear about what you want to achieve this year, how you\u2019ll track your progress and if it\u2019s even possible. \u00a0Stick to goals that are truly meaningful to you instead of picking ones that are trendy. \u00a0Most importantly, give yourself a deadline.\u00a0 A good tip is to reassess your goals every 3 months to see if you\u2019re on the right track.\u00a0 Here are a few examples of bad vs SMART goals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Devise a plan and take action<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Benjamin_Franklin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Benjamin Franklin<\/a> once said, \u201cIf you fail to plan, you are planning to fail\u201d and he\u2019s right.\u00a0 For every goal you set, you need a plan to make it happen.\u00a0 Your dreams will be much easier to achieve if you cut them into bite-sized pieces.\u00a0 So, what steps will you take on a daily, weekly or monthly basis?\u00a0 Remember, even baby steps are better than remaining idle.\u00a0 Once you have a plan in place, start taking action.\u00a0 No excuses and no
